Self Awareness

Elements:
Square slabs of plexiglass are centered and mounted one on top of the other; each slab has a void and the collection of all the voids creates a human figure.
Narrative:
Each slab represents a life experience in which we observe what is outside of us. A single experience does not define us. Self-Awareness is an emergent phenomenon, an internal state that arises naturally from the accumulation, alignment, and stacking of our life experiences. Self-awareness is the empty space carved out by the cumulative impact of living.
